- SWFA coach Vera Pauw resigns
Vera Pauw, National Coach & Technical Director has officially resigned. She will finish her post August 23 2002.
Vera has revolutionised the National Squad and leaves a great foundation for women’s football. She has developed a programme and structure that any sport would be proud of and established the Scotland Women’s Squad as worthy opposition for any team. Vera has taken Scotland to another level, leading them to the 1st strength category in Europe, an outstanding achievement.
The former Dutch Captain will now take up a coaching role at the KNVB (Dutch FA). She made 87 appearances with Holland dating back to the seventies and she also had 12 years experience as staff instructor and coach from 1986 - 1998.

- Scotland face up to play the USA
Scotland will take on the USA on Sept. 8, 2002, at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. It will be the first time the two nations have met each other and the USA are looking forward to the prospect of facing the newly promoted Scottish Ladies. UEFA recently voted to expand the upper tier of women's football to 20 teams, and Scotland,  who took 15 points from their six qualifying games, earned promotion to the upper tier, thereby enabling them to attempt to qualify for the 2007 Women's World Cup.
Julie Fleeting (right) recently moved to America when she signed for San Diego Spirit in the WUSA.

- Party Time

Various members of the TSTA managed to somehow gatecrash their way into the SWFA team party. Stevie "CreditCard" Morris assures us (gloats) that it was a grrrrrrrrreat night out. He managed to capture some of it on camera for us all to jealously view.
